Retainer and Payments:
50% of the total amount of services is required to secure the date of your event. This retainer will be used toward the client’s total event/wedding day balance. This retainer is NON-REFUNDABLE.The remainder of the balance is required the week before the event, and extras are paid on the day of the event.
(Note: Trials and Retainer fees are two separate costs.)
All payments are subject to tax, including cash.
Payments are accepted by cash or Interac E-Transfer (TorresDomingoHairandMakeup@gmail.com), or debit/credit through the Helcim portal.
Credit card fees apply.Cancellation Policy – What You Need to Know
We completely understand that plans can change — weddings are full of moving parts! To keep things fair for both you and our team, here’s how cancellations and changes work once your date is booked:
Once your contract is signed and retainer is paid, your booking is confirmed, and the number of services agreed upon is locked in.
If someone in your group changes their mind or can’t make it, no worries — that service can be transferred to someone else (another guest or family member). Please let us know in advance.
Please note: No refunds will be issued for missed or canceled appointments, as we’ve reserved that time just for your group.
If You Cancel the Entire Booking:
More than 90 days before the wedding: No further payment is required (retainer remains non-refundable).
60–89 days before: 50% of your remaining total will be due.
31–59 days before: 75% of your remaining total will be due.
30 days or less before the wedding: The full balance is due.
This helps ensure our artists are fairly compensated for holding the date and turning away other bookings.
We’re always here to support you and will work with you to find solutions if anything comes up!POLICIES
Mobile Services:
Require a minimum of 3 services to travel. Otherwise, a $500 minimum is required.
Earliest start time is 4 a.m.
Early start fees apply between start times of 4 a.m. – 7 a.m. ($40/hr).
The artist will require 15–20 minutes before "start time" to set up.
Bridal Trial:
Trials must be scheduled at least 2–3 months prior to your wedding or event date.
All trials are held Mondays to Thursdays only, excluding long weekends.
Please bring any hair extensions, veil, and accessories (e.g., hairpieces or jewelry) you plan to wear so we can complete your full look.
Deposit & Payment:
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your trial appointment. The remaining balance is due on the day of the trial.Rescheduling:
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule your trial. Cancellations or changes with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in loss of your deposit.Additional Trials (Retrials):
Available upon request at a rate of $120 per session.Travel & Parking:
Travel fee starts at $0.75/km (round-trip) from T2Y 4L4, with a minimum of $35 per artist, plus any parking fees.
Flat rates available for destinations outside of Calgary — please inquire.
Extra fees apply if the artist must go to more than one location or return to the same location later in the day for touch-ups.
If more than 6 services are required before 12 p.m., an additional hairstylist/makeup artist may be needed. Travel fees apply from their starting location, as well as any parking and early start fees.
Where parking, valet, or toll fees may be incurred, this amount will be included in the final invoice due on the day of the event.
Accommodations:
If your artist is flying to your location, we kindly ask that the round-trip flight and one night of hotel accommodations be covered.
If travel exceeds 1 hour and services begin before 6:00 a.m., we also require one night of accommodations near the getting-ready location.
For international destinations, please provide accommodations for two nights to allow extra time in case of travel delays.
These policies support the well-being of our artists and ensure they arrive safely, rested, prepared, and fully focused on you and your bridal party.
On Location Touch-ups:
If you’d like your artist to stay for touch-ups after services are complete, the rate is $100/hour.
Time begins after all services are finished and ends when the artist leaves the site.
Touch-up time must be arranged in advance of your wedding day.
Return Touch-Ups:
If your artist needs to return later in the day (for a second look, photos, or reception prep), the fee is $100/hour + travel (minimum 1 hour).
Lipstick Touch-Ups:
Even with long-wear products, lipstick can fade with eating and drinking.
We recommend purchasing the lipstick colour used at your trial for your own touch-ups throughout the day.All makeup clients will also receive a mini touch-up kit with a powder puff and mini lip application to stay fresh and flawless.
Hair Extensions:
Hair extensions can be purchased for the client in advance.
An additional $50 fee applies if prep (washing and blow-drying) is needed from the artist.
You may also purchase and prep the extensions yourself — prep instructions will be included.
Limited availability for hair extension rentals, for $150 per set. Must be returned within the week after the event
Act of God / Unforeseen Circumstances:
In the unlikely event that the artist is unable to fulfill their contractual obligations due to circumstances beyond their control — including but not limited to medical emergencies, severe illness, acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, or other unforeseen emergencies — the artist agrees to notify the client as soon as reasonably possible.
In such cases, the artist will make every reasonable effort to secure a qualified replacement. If a suitable replacement is not available, the client will receive a refund for any payments made, excluding services already rendered.
Please note: To date, this situation has never occurred with our team.
Delays:
A late fee of $20.00 will be charged for every 20 minutes of delay when:
A client is late for the scheduled time, or
The scheduled hair/makeup application exceeds the allotted time due to client-related delays (e.g. client keeps getting up, answering phone calls, etc.)
Allergies / Conditions:
Any allergies and/or skin/scalp conditions should be reported to the artist prior to service.
A patch test can be performed if needed.
Clients agree to release the artists of Torres Domingo Hair and Makeup from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions.
The artist is unable to perform any hair service if the client has lice.
Gratuities:
At TD Hair and Makeup, we are always grateful when clients choose to express their appreciation with a tip, though tipping is entirely optional and never expected.
If you choose to tip your artists, here’s how it works:
Cash tips can be given directly to your artist(s) on the day of the wedding — this goes 100% to your artist(s).
E-transfer tips can be sent to TorresDomingoHairandMakeup@gmail.com and will be evenly distributed between artists based on the number of clients each serviced (unless otherwise specified).
Helcim (credit/debit) payments do not currently allow for tips. If you'd like to include a tip this way, let us know before your final invoice is paid so we can adjust accordingly.
Our artists appreciate your generosity — but more than anything, we’re just happy to be part of your big day.
Thank you for having us! 💛
Timeline with NamesTo ensure your day runs smoothly and stress-free, please review the following:
Please inform us of any timeline preferences as early as possible.
For example:If someone in your party needs to leave early, we will schedule them first.
If someone will arrive later, they can be placed later in the schedule.
If the photographer will be taking “getting ready” or “First Look” photos.
If your bridal suite opens at a specific time or if you have a firm ‘ready by’ time, please communicate this.
This information helps us determine:
How early we need to start.
Whether we need to bring an additional artist to stay on schedule.
If no preferences are provided, we will build the schedule based on:
Hair type (e.g., if your hair doesn’t hold curl well, you may go later or need it prepped earlier).
Skin type (e.g., oilier skin types may benefit from a later makeup slot).
The bride is typically scheduled second to last to ensure optimal freshness while allowing enough time for final adjustments or touch-ups.
✅ A custom schedule and timeline will be created for you based on all of the above.

Hair Preparation Instructions
To ensure the best results on your wedding day, please follow these guidelines carefully:
What to Wear & Bring
Wear a button-down or zip-up top to avoid disturbing your hair or makeup during removal.
After your trial is complete, bring a white top or robe to better visualize how your hair and makeup will look.
Bring all accessories: veil, hair accessories, hair extensions, and anything you plan to wear in your hair.
Before the Event
🚫 Do NOT use any heat styling tools (e.g., curling or flat irons) the day before or the day of your appointment.
The day before your event:
Shampoo your hair twice using a clarifying shampoo (avoid 2-in-1 or moisturizing shampoos).
The first wash may not lather much; the second should.
Be thorough — wash the crown, sides, and especially the area below the occipital bone (back of your head).
Condition only if your hair is extremely dry or staticky — and only on mid-lengths and ends.
🚫 Do not use leave-in products, oils, or treatments.
Day of the Event
If you have oily hair, you may shampoo the morning of the event (no conditioner).
Gently towel dry your hair and brush with a detangling brush (e.g., Tangle Teezer), starting from the ends and working up.
Hair must be 100% dry — either air-dried or blow-dried.
Damp hair will delay your service and not hold style well.
If needed, you may be asked to blow-dry it before your appointment.
🚫 Do NOT steam dresses after your hair or makeup has been completed.
The heat and moisture can disrupt your finished look.Hair Extensions Prep
New Extensions
Brand new extensions often have a coating that prevents curl hold.
Wash them 3 times with clarifying shampoo at least a few days before the trial and again before the wedding/event.
No conditioner or oils.
If previously styled (curled or flat-ironed), wash twice with shampoo and use conditioner only if dry or frizzy.
After washing:
Brush and lay flat to dry.
Ensure they are completely dry (they should not feel cold).
🚫 Do NOT use heat tools before your service.
Blonde Extensions & Purple Shampoo
Blonde extensions are very porous.
To tone without turning them purple:
Fill a sink with water and dilute a small amount of purple shampoo.
Dip extensions in for 30 seconds (fully saturate), rinse, and condition.
This gives an ashy tone without over-toning.
Makeup Preparation Instructions
To ensure your makeup lasts beautifully all day, follow these steps:
What to Wear & Bring
Wear a button-down or zip-up top to avoid disrupting your hair/makeup when changing.
After your trial, bring a white top or robe to visualize your final look.
Skin Prep: The Night Before
Gently exfoliate your face to remove dead skin and prep a smooth base.
Moisturize well to ensure hydration and optimal makeup application.
Lips
Exfoliate lips using a scrub (or DIY mix of sugar and olive oil).
Moisturize with a hydrating balm.
On the Wedding/Event Day
Your artist will custom-prep your skin based on your skin type and condition that day.
If you plan to eat or drink before makeup is complete, inform your artist so lipstick can be applied last.
To ensure best results:
🚫 Avoid using your phone during makeup application.
Eye movement from texting or scrolling can cause fluttering and delay precise application.
💄 If you are not receiving touch-ups, consider purchasing the lipstick used at your trial for re-application.
While our lip products are long-wearing, fading may occur with eating or drinking.Important Reminders
🚫 Do NOT steam dresses after your hair or makeup is complete.
The heat and humidity can cause makeup breakdown and affect the final look.
